Moira - Little finishes.......

Have been working on finishing up a number of small projects this week.     First up was a couple of tote bags made with a floral drapery fabric.   Fabric was 54" wide, so the bags finished out to a nice size to carry bulky stuff in.   One of them is headed to my GF for the remaining part of her BD gift.   The other will either be sold or given as a gift.

Next up were a couple of little pouches that I made from a drapery sample that I got at Joann Fabrics when it went on clearance.   I'll make both pouches again, but next time I'll add a handle to the rectangular on when making it.   These will end up as gifts most likely.  (Thinking of Christmas early for a change!)

Next up were a bunch of quilted postcards and a couple of quilted bookmarks.    These started with leftover strips from projects from years past.   I'd had them set aside for the postcards for several yrs, but hadn't gotten around to making the cards.    Finished these up a couple of days after surgery.   Postcards are embellished with silk flowers and buttons.

I've also been doing a lot of sorting through things around here this week while off on recovery.   One of the things that I've gone through are the umpteen little cross-stitch kits that I got from my Britsh cross-stitch mags.   Two of those kits are for these little Christmas ornaments.   Quick and easy to do, but oh so much fun to count out when all I have to count the stitches on is a picture.....Was glad to have a little magnifier for the dove one.  Still need to add the fiberfill and stitch the bottom closed for these, but gotta buy the fiberfill first.

The vest below is one that I made yrs ago and is far from fitting me now.  Am debating about selling it on ebay iwth the other stuff that I'm currently listing there, or to repurpose the front fabric.   The cat print is a really nice, heavy-weight tapestry fabric that I love.    Am thinking it might make a good outer side of a holder for  my kindle fire.   Would end up having to be cut a little funky in order to get the size piece I need.

Haven't decided yet what to do so it'll go back into one of my totes again for me to make a decision at a later date.

In the meantime, I've also been working on sorting thru stuff here (long neglected) and downsizing, listing stuff on ebay to sell, working on school work (final exams, grading papers and tests, emails, etc).   Still need to work on getting my resume updated this week as well.  Should work on commmissioned sewing as well but don't know if I'll get that done or not.

Thankfully I'm feeling better and the swelling in the sinuses has dropped enough that I can once again breathe thru the nose.  =)

4 weeks left in school and lots to do between now and then ......hard to believe time is flying by.

Your xs was so fast! Everything looks terrific, and it's so nice you are getting some UFOs and PIGS out of the way.
