Susan: CQJP2014: April

Still working on it. With my trip, not much advance, but a couple of small seams are finished. This completes the fan.

Love the thread colours on your seams and they really gleam. Are you using rayon threads?

Oh, good question! I bought two Wonderfil threads at the local Brother dealer. The deep turquoise you see on Seam 80 is 100% cotton, about a perle 12. It was nice enough. The other one is a Razzle-Dazzle rayon, about a perle 8 or a little bigger. I keep trying to use rayon, hoping I'll find one I like, but I'm about to give up. This is a beautiful color, but talk about twisty and knotty! So I have 249 yards of it that I'll never use!

Woohoo gorgeous colours Susan. I love the variety of your stitched seams. Great work.

I love that thread too, so shiny!

Susan you might want to give beeswax a try with that rayon thread. It certainly made a difference helping to stop the knotting and twisting. i have a small beeswax heart and I just run the thread inside the curve of the heart. It would be a shame not to use that pretty thread!

You could couch that pesky rayon thread down.

Two good suggestions, thanks! If I have a place to use it again, I'll try those. I do have that little blue box thing that has beeswax in it.

And I forgot to say both of these were inspired by Annie at loopylace. I did find out that there's nothing wrong. She fell in love with a person instead of CQ. =)
