Deborah: Mug Rugs & Dress - Finished

I finished Dress #1:

and my sister in law and I were pleased with the results - it fit perfectly. One down, one to go.

The other project I worked on all week were the mug rugs for the Spring swap over at Michelle's Spring Mug Rug Swap. Actually finished on time...

Purple is my new favorite color.

Have a great week, ladies.

Congrats on finishing dress number 1. I sure do like that textured fabric.
Love your Spring looking mug rugs. A very cheerful and interesting design. Great work this week Deborah.

Simple pattern thank goodness. Even then, it took me forever. I was nervous because it's for her to wear to a wedding next week.

At least she's not IN the wedding.

The mug rugs are just the cutest! Would love see a photo of your sister-in-law IN the dress, I bet it was divine.

I have done some sewing for people in weddings, so not fun. The dress looks great and so do the mug rugs.

Nice work on both projects. The flowered mug rugs are my favorite of the bunch

I will post a photo of Judy in the dress with all her finery. The hat she found was perfect. I don't think I would EVER agree to make a dress for the wedding party! I saw what my girls went through when they were in their cousin's wedding - all the fittings and alterations. NO. THANKS. This was a very simple pattern but I was really nervous about fitting. I am not a seamstress, just someone who knows how to sew. But I purchased an online fitting class from Craftsy which really helped. Now that I have that pretty much under control, I'm not so nervous about the next dress which is fortunate since I have less time to make it. There goes my long weekend. :-)

No, not in the wedding; but she was in the bride's mother's wedding back in the 1980's, I guess. I don't think I would ever agree to sew for the wedding party. No pressure there!

Awesome job on the dress, Deborah! It's lovely. The mug mats are very nice also. Good luck with the rest of your sewing project!
