Angela ~ Quilt Progress

In the midst of quilting another section, I've opted to quilt down the straight lines in the square to the left of Elizabeth Hopkins Burgess.
Here's what the back looks like, I am quite pleased.  There was no way I was going to be able to line up the squares on the backing though.

Either you are really fast, or you are spending a lot of time quilting! It looks wonderful!

I love your idea of 'feature' quilting some of the squares. It all adds to the beauty of the piece and creates interesting areas on the back.

This is definitely a labor of love, Angela. What a treasure to have so much family history recorded for future generations!

I'm not that fast and I'm not spending a lot of time right now as sometimes I'm too tired to even look at it if I have been outside all day. But thanks!

Maybe a museum will want it someday, I'm an only child of an only child, not married and only have furkids, lol.

It looks great! It's hard to work inside when the garden is calling, isn't it?

Oh yes it is, especially when the weather is perfect. It won't be long and it will be too hot to stay out for long, so I am enjoying it now. We may even get rain tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed!

It's looking great Angela. Hand quilting is so beautiful, it makes me want to touch the quilt and feel the squishiness.

Your hand quilting is very nice! I can see how lining up on the back was impossible, but don't despair, didn't effect your design one bit. Lovely work.
