Deborah: Slow Week

Ladies, I have little to show this week. As my daughter would say, I'm not feeling it. I have been stitching 5" blocks together for a quilt for one of Debra's projects. And, I've worked a little on this...

...when I finally found the embroidery thread which I had stuffed into a bag of scraps for some reason.

This is Elizabeth and Darcy.  It was supposed to be a gift for my daughter but didn't get finished in time. I downloaded the pattern from Little Dorrit & Co. on Etsy.  (You didn't think *I* drew that, did you? :-) ) Debra: that is a scrap of the linen from the basset hound embroideries you did for me.

I hope this week is more productive, stitch wise. I did read a couple of books this week for the reading challenge I'm doing along with my daughter (who is determined to read 100 books this year).

I'll just enjoy & admire your work today.

Very sweet embroidery! Too bad it is promised because it would be super for the central block of your red & white CQ.

Do you need to brainstorm about your CQ? where are you stuck?

A fun piece of stitching.
(I think Darcy is a little worried about that needle though)......

Cy, LOL! Poor Darcy!

I think I'm just going to put it aside for a few days and see if the spirit moves me. I'll spend some time on Pinterest for inspiration!

What did we ever do before Pinterest?

Saw an interesting concept--a young Houston business owner was interviewed about her trendy "make it" and sell it shop & said (in effect) she opened her shop to help people avoid Pinterest Failures.
Imagine explaining that to a banker for a business loan.

Lovely stitchery! I'm tempted to go buy the pattern..........but I know it would be forever before i have time to work on it so I won't.

I do like that piece! I hope it winds up in the finished pile this year, because it definitely deserves to.

I love embroidery, any way, shape or form. I think Elizabeth and Darcy are so cute! Be proud of your accomplishment, no matter how small. There are weeks I get NOTHING done!

Fun embroidery piece! What will you make with it? It's sure a cute pattern. I'd be tempted but have too many half done pieces lurking on the sidelines.

A couple of years ago, people were squawking about copyright violations on Pinterest, now it's a marketing tool. Even libraries are using it as a way to get their messages out to the public. Things certainly do change quickly these days.

Thanks you - it's very relaxing. I love this kind of embroidery.

Thanks, Suz. I have to thank Debra for the linen. But doesn't it make a nice, rich background for embroidery?

"THANK" :-)

Moira, I had intended to give it to my daughter for her birthday but obviously did not get it finished by January 6. I'm the worst one to over estimate what I can get done in a given time. But, she's in no hurry so I just pick it up and stitch a little when I'm tired and need something to do.

I know, what's my hurry? I had a 3 day weekend and had so much I wanted to accomplish but time just slips away.

Yea, I wish I could think of the next great idea.
