Coming Along~~~~

That teddy bear is taking forever! But as you can see, I have made some progress.  The puckering inside the mushroom is scaring me, but hopefully it will stretch out with pressing and framing! ( Baby's name and birthdate go there.)

I included this so you could see the "before".  (Thankfully, Baby has seemingly settled in for now, and DD has been much more comfortable as she heads toward week 38.)

Boy, your piece is really taking shape. All the details are charming, I love the row of ladybugs.

It's coming along very nicely, and will be so cute! Love the stripey stem on your mushroom, and the heart flowers.
You might try damp stretching your piece to see about straightening that puckering.

I have that puckering issue sometimes in the middle of CQ blocks with machine embroidery. My guess is that the surrounding area is more heavily stitched than the empty area and the tension between the two shows up as a big rumple.

If, after blocking it still persists, you could put a small piece of calico in there as the mushroom top. Before you do that, you could slice the area and pull the fullness to the middle; then, cover with the calico. I had to do a similar operation to a few of my Madonna pictures that were bugging the crap out of me.

If this is linen, you can wet and iron the daylights out of it.

Thanks, Angela!

Linen it is, or at least I am pretty sure it is, so I will plan on wetting it and ironing it. (Gotta get rid of the blue lines.....you know?)

Wow, puckering mushrooms, sounds like someone has eaten too many 'funny' ones.
You may find that after you have stitched the baby's name in there that the puckering will be minimal or, at least, not as noticeable. You could also try steaming just that bit (before adding the name) over the spout of a boiling kettle (carefully please) to see if that would shrink the offending puckering.
Everything else is looking good there Judy. Hope the baby is still holding on for a wee while yet before popping out.

Week 38 and counting! We are very relieved. Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions about the pucker-problem!
