Debra: Longstanding Sweater UFO

Barbara's sweater post last week reminded me that with a little effort I could finish the sweater I have been knitting for the last 2 years!

Here's one of the sleeves almost done.
If I finish this sweater this summer, it will be a Red X Day on my Calendar for sure!

In other news, I am steadily whittling away at the scrap basket over on my blog.  I have a very pretty 9 Patch top posted today.

I admire your picking this back up to finish, Debra. Kudos. Looks nicely colourful, too, in a soft way.

Wow, she knits too. Is there anything this girl doesn't do, I wonder.

Windows and my husband complains that "for a home ec teacher, I cannot wipe a counter without streaks!"

I barely knit. If I could get one sweater done completely, I would be hooked.

I love it, a home ec teacher that would rather eat out. LOL

Oh hush, now my secret it out!

Looks very nice. Are they all the same brand of yarn? Do you have any secrets for sewing in ends? That's my very least favorite part of knitting.

This is a huge hodgepodge of yarns. The base yarn is all the same--a linen my mom had in her stash. I've been adding the 2nd color so the 2 combined are closer to the weight required by the pattern.

I just hold the yarn over a few stitches so it's woven in as it is stitched.
I've never knitted a front band before so that will be a new lesson. The front and back are about ¾ up the sleeve armhole done. Probably a good sitting and I could finish them. Right now I am concentrating on the sleeves.

You can do it! It's going to be great to see you finished sweater in person (no pressure of course).

I'm worrying a little about the size but hoping the yarn has good "give" to it.

Knitting is all Greek to me, but it looks pretty.
