I knew this block was going to be challenging because of the number and size of the applique pieces but I am happy with the way the flowers have turned out. I had to use some glue stick on the back to help keep the edges turned under, but that worked out well.
These tiny buds are another matter. They are made by folding a 1 1/4" circle into quarters, then gathering them, and basting to the background. Then there is an even tinier piece that forms the base of the bud. As you can see I haven't gotten that far. I decided they will have to be slightly larger than the pattern piece to cover the bottom of these buds. If I thought those leaves were tedious, they are a breeze compared to the flowers and buds. What does it say about me that I actually am enjoying the process? OCD much? :-)
