Cy ~ I Am Not Lost.....

After last weeks 'snafu' moment on the sarcophagus shapes, I came to a full-stop on that project just while I revisit what I had in mind for it. I had gone the wrong way, and now I have to find my way again, lol.

I am reminded of a statement I once made to hubby :-

"I am not lost, I just went the wrong way"

.... and that is so true for that project.

So, on to other things for this week.

I needed to JUST STITCH ANYTHING to take my mind off the 'other' project, and preferably not follow a pattern or need anything too 'taxing' for my brain at this moment.
A crochet knee-rug developed and was great for just letting the mind wander for a couple of days.

And here is a test piece of a possible art quilt in the designing stage.

Happy Stitching

I'm anxious to hear of your resolution.

Have been pinning crocheted flowers on my Pinterest board with the anticipation of making them for a CQ.

Is your bottom piece hand stitched? I like it! Nice crocheting also...great colors!

With the nice steady 'no-brainer' (back and forth, back and forth) crochet stitching this week, I have, at least, made a decision for WHAT NEXT on the quilt. I will show progress next weekend hopefully.

Uh-oh, I see another project of yours looming on the horizon that will make me edgy with anticipation. I will be EAGERLY awaiting the pics of this one.

Your knee-rug/afghan looks cozy. I LOVE the stitching on the test piece. It's so textural and reminds me of a map.

It's machine stitched Judy, with some metallic threads on my own hand dyed fabric.

Thanks Angela, glad it looks like a map to you, because I vaguely had an image of Tolkein's "Middle Earth" in my head as I stitched it.

Ooh, free motion embroidery is so much fun, and I love the texture it adds to your fabric. Love the pale pink in your crocheted knee rug.
I'm eager to find out your decision.

Love that Crochet Knee Rug! Nice colors as well. Simply adore your free motion embroidery!!!!

Thanks Suz, yes I do love free motion machine stitching, as long as I remember to breathe whilst doing it, lol. Haven't done much of it lately so I suppose that is where this (new) project sprung from.

Thanks Pat, Lucky I found three left-over balls of wool in colours that go together reasonably well. It needs to be double the size it is now, so I hope I can find some more wool in my 'left-overs' box to match this lot.

Grey and pink, love those colors together.

I agree, it's a good combination =)

I think crochetted flowers would go well with Jacobean flowers. What do you think?

Debra Spincic said...

If not, throw in another color as an "accent" because you meant to do that!

Cy said...

Oh Jacobean as well, another of my loves. Perfect partner for crochet flowers =)

Thanks for that suggestion Debra. Yep, it's gonna have to be an 'accent' as I've just looked in the 'bits' box and nothing in there matches and I refuse to buy more wool.

Yes, I am trying to mesh a few ideas into a big piece. The solution has not become crystal clear to me yet so I hesitate to jump too far off the diving board. I have faith, though, that the answer will appear here soon.

I am getting very, very good designing out of my stash. I have not bought any real supplies in years (aside from a button here or a FQ there). My goal is to continue making ideas that work with my supplies. I love what I have accumulated and it's time to put that love to work!

So I definitely support your decision to add an accent!

You have to remember to breathe, and I have to remember to blink! LOL
