Patricia: My Goals for 2013

My main goal is to make a  Wall Hanging in memory of my Mother using Crazy Quilting.
I hope to be ready to start it by June/July.  Feel I want to practice more these first few months.

Have been working on both Jan. & Feb. blocks.

I also have several other UFO's that I would like to finish this year.

What projects are your UFO's Patricia? and how long ago did you start them, lol.
I'm sure you will soon progress to being happy with your Crazy Quilting practice, enough to make a start on the quilt in memory of your dear mother. I am looking forward to seeing the start of it.

I have some Crazy Quilting blocks I did in a swap that should be put together, plus numerous quilt tops in all different stages of being completed, along with some counted cross stitch. My main goal is to do my Memory Wall Hanging of my MOther. If I stitched as pretty as you and the others I would start on it tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

I think your stitching looks good, Patricia, but I understand wanting to feel more comfortable with CQing before delving into a special project. Do you have a theme for your Mother's quilt? Or pieces of hers you wish to incorporate into the quilt? I'm saving one of my mother's favourite brooches to add to a future CQ. I look forward to seeing your quilt's progress.
you reminded me that I have several blocks tucked away-some done in a round robin and some in 1:1 swaps that need some attention. Thanks.

Your stitching looks fine, Pat. I know that sometimes when I think mine is less than I want it to be, I start adding embellishers, like French knots and straight stitches and detached chains, and I think it looks better. LOL Probably it just gives the eye so much to look at, no one can focus on my mistakes!

Your stitching is lovely, I wouldn't hesitate to start that special project at all.

I often have a warm-up block that I stitch for a few minutes to get my muscle memory working and then stitch on my "real" project. You could certainly use these blocks for that and then transition to your Mother's wallpiece.

My motto is not to hesitate but to move forward with my ideas. Life is too short to put ideas on the back burner for some day that may not come to us.

I agree with what everyone else says: your stitching's ready to go. Perhaps it's time to design your special project.

Thanks Everyone for all your comments, I am anxious to get started on my Mom's wall hanging (I am not getting any younger either)

I will just keep going on forward!
