Cy ~ A snafu moment

I think I might get in trouble with some of my stitching peers with this weeks reveal of stitches. But ...(why does there always have to be a 'but')...  there is a reason I have done what I have done.

I'll start by showing you all the stitching that I have achieved this week, just to soften you up a bit before I reveal my snafu.

Working on my CQJP 2013 project.
So, forget I ever mentioned Minimalist, because at this stage I just cannot DO minimalist, lol.
here are the pics.

And the "sarcophagus" shapes with the stitches on.

But..............

~ now here comes the part where I had my "snafu" moment ~

.......this is NOT how I envisaged the project. It is NOT what is in my head, and I do NOT like it.

So what am I going to do about it, you may be asking.

Well,

I have just frogged the lot

Happy Stitching
or "un-stitching"

OMG! You frogged it??

I had a sneaky feeling you couldn't do 'minimal'. About like me trying to do minimal. Ain't gonna happen.

GASP! I loved your seams! Not minimalist, true, but lively and colourful. I liked the layers, too. oh, boy. I can't believe you frogged the whole thing!
okay, now what?

I'm gasping too! Lovely stitching, even though it's not what you wanted.

My first thought was : Oh no you didn't! But, I hear you.

I need to join the Ministry of Minimalism for this to work......

Lol, I don't know 'what now' Suz. Back to the drawing board I suppose.

Don't hold your breath Angela..... it may be a long wait, lol.

I must admit, I had a moment during the frogging when I thought I had gone completely mad, but it didn't last longer than a bee's blink.

Yep, gone - removed, absent, is no more, awol, out the window, not a sign of, vanished, non-existent, sent into exile, done for, wiped out.

I knew I had to frog it before reading any comments here or else I might have chickened out. It's done now, and I'm pleased, even though I don't know what will take it's place yet.

If you want my advice (like you asked, right?), you need to go with the flow. Be natural and let your needle reflect you. Why make yourself be minimal when it's a struggle? Pass on this idea and go be you!

Hmmm, great advice, thanks Debra.

That's the exact reason why I love this group. We may not actually ask for help, but we know we are going to get it anyway, in whatever form it arrives, lol.

I'm just trying to save you from another UFO! I am never happy when I force myself to stitch in a way that is not my own way.

Whew! You are a bravery soul than I am........not sure I could have frogged them out but if you aren't happy with it.... guess a person has to do what she has to do.

Your stitching was beautiful but I understand it wasn't what you had envisioned.

Well, you must have felt strongly about it to take it all out. I think I would have just stitched two new blocks and started over. =) I really liked the way they looked, actually, but they aren't mine, and I'm not the one who has to be satisfied. I hope you do that one feather stitch with the cast on stitches (I think that's what that was) again, because that's a great seam. Considering that you had no button trails, no beads, and no fancy stitching, AND I could see the background fabric, I thought it WAS minimalist. LOL
