Suz-Update CQJP's and TAST

Hi. I've been working on my CQJP 2012 wall hanging, and here it is all pinned with the snowy lace, and on a dark green background.

I just need to sew the lace around the outside, then create the snowflakes before adding the dark green backing.
here's one snowflake I tatted at the beginning of CQJP 2012

I think I'll be making some smaller ones....
I created another block for CQJP 2013.....only 3 more to go.

the rose center is so pretty. Thanks Debra.
here's my block for CQJP 2013 so far

I have some more stitching to add

I think it needs some pale green.....

As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated. thanks.

Hugs from Suz

I forgot to add that I used the TAST knotted fly stitch on the angled seam, then added some beads.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...! They are like jewels in a frosty landscape, beautiful.

That rose was given to me by Angela (Ladyhawthorne). I passed it on since it looked like it would work for your project.

Add the wide lace and green backing elevated your Christmas wallhanging tremendously. The spiky edge of the lace really is beautiful & goes so well with the snowflake idea.

I like that spiky edge too, rather frosty looking! Your snowflakes are gorgeous, they will work beautifully on this piece.

Thanks Debra! (and Angela!)
I do like the way the Christmas wall hanging looks with the spiky edge, and I have some more left over. I wonder how it would look as a snowflake (with a blingy center). Hmmm......

thanks Carol. I hoped it would look that way. ;-D

Thanks for the rose piece, Angela. It made that block!

Maybe you could do a cluster of snowflakes in the middle sashing somewhere and use it them.

I love the way the lace makes it look as if the blocks have been frosted with snow! You did a wonderful job with the sashing; it's not easy to line the blocks up. (At least mine are fighting me a bit.) This will be a fun piece to add to your holiday decor! I am very impressed that you're already charging ahead with the 2013 project. You go, girl!

Your 2012 project is going to be a great addition to your walls. I like the white against the dark green final border. The tatted snowflake is gorgeous, too, and I like the bit of sparkle.

The 2013 project is so different from last year's. I think that's a good plan - I know I'm definitely ready for something different for me! I love this first block, and I agree that the light green is a good color to use next.

Oh your quilt top is looking pretty gorgeous. Love all the frosty snow and lacy snowflake. Bet you can't wait for next Christmas when this will be finished and hanging pride of place on your wall. Wish I could have it decorating my lounge next Christmas, lol.
2013 blocks are gradually growing (and even glowing) in beauty too.
Well done Suz.

The dramatic lace border is a wonderful detail. It really adds "icing" to your beautiful composition.
