Cy - Nov 2012 block almost finished

Almost finished my Nov 2012 block.
Just some beading and perhaps a mandala to add, and then it's all done. It will be finished by the end of today.

Close up of the crochet for this block.

And the butterfly for this month is French Knots.

And here's a close-up of a few other seam treatments.

All for now.
Back to the beading.

Happy Stitching

Like French Knots, do you, Cy? Holy Moley, Girl.

that silver trim is perfect on your block--nice call there.

Adore your French Knot butterfly and if I turn my head sideways your bows remind me of bow ties and the striped material of gentlemen's shirts.

That is one amazing butterfly, Cy! It reminds me a bit of boucle yarn. I can't wait to see all of your butterflies together! Oh, and the rest of the stitching is great, too.

Oh yes, I do love a French Knot or two ;)

Haha, my thoughts exactly as I was stitching the 'bow-ties'.

Lol, I can't wait to see all my butterflies together either, it would mean I've finished the project, and that would also mean I've caught up too, haha.

Thank you Pat, I tried for a bit of continuity with all my 2012 blocks having a butterfly in the middle and a piece of my crochet somewhere on the block.

I love french knots too, not sure why most people don't like making them. This block is just wonderful!

Love the french knotted butterfly and your color gradation. You did a wonderful job on this block.

That is one gorgeous butterfly! Fab colouring, and I love the French knots! That last seam treatment is nice. Great block.

Thanks Angela. The humble French Knot is rather under-rated I think.

Thank you Connie, I tried to keep the gradation on the wings symmetrical for a bit of realism.

Thanks Suz. Variety of stitching while keeping the butterfly theme was starting to challenge my creativity.

I loved everything you did on the block - the butterfly is amazing! I found it amusing that my favorite seam - the curvy one - was one not highlighted. The blue bows and the stitching just under that appealed to me greatly, too. I like the backstitch/satin stitch curves - very appealing!

Lol, sorry the curvy one didn't get it's moment in the spotlight Susan. I have made up for it now though on my blog. The finished block is there along with better pics of the curvy stitched seam.
