Judy ~ September Reveal ~ Knotted Buttonhole Stitch

Boy, I sure could have used a few more days in September!  Sue got her sneaker-clogs yesterday, Debra, and she's trying to bring down her blood pressure by jumping rope. Sharon said the knotted buttonhole stitch works on curves so I used it on her hat brim along with some more pistil stitches on the ribbon.  Somewhere I got the crazy idea to try doing the flowers with the cast-on stitch. Don't think I'll be doing any more of that for a while.  Actually, I'm going to be AWOL for a bit, spending time with the grandkids, and will catch up later.  Happy Needling.  And if you want to see an antique CQ  quilt, check my blog. We saw a beautiful one at the Puyallup fair.

I love the flowers but I can certainly understand your feelings about cast-on stitch!

"Who exercises in a hat."? Well Sue of course and if your hat looked like hers you would too! Very pretty stitching on Sue's dress and oh, those cast on flowers. Have fun with your grandchildren.

Sue is so very pretty. Reminds me of my elementary school days when we all jumped rope. All those rhymes we said and now I don't remember a one. Those flowers are fantastic!

We skipped to the ABC's, jumping out on the letter of our name, then did the Birthday one, jumping out on the month, and jumping in on the day. They were fun.

There's a lot of stitchin in those flowers! They look so pretty, though. Is Suzy doing the "Skip to My Lou"? (hah, my brother always said I was skipping to the loo!....brothers! did you know brothers are just bothers with an r? lol)
SBSue looks sweet in her new sneaker-clogs. Nice stitching!
Have fun with the GKs.

I'll have to share that with Sophia when she gets a bit older! How about "Mable, Mable Set the Table". Remember that one?

Her mom told her if she would wear a hat she'd not get wrinkles. It's hard to sleep that way though......

You found a good use for the knotted buttonhole stitch: it makes her hat look very nice. It's good to see Sue getting some exercise, even if she's still wearing her "good" clothes. Enjoy your time with the grandkids.

A lovely stitching reveal Judy. Adore those sneakers, lol.
Great work on the knotted buttonhole and the cast-ons. Such a lot of work, well done.
How about - A sailor went to sea, sea, sea, to see what he could see,see,see......
....(that is a tripple-skip jump for the see, see, see bit). Oh yes, my sister and I were energetic in those days.

Cutest little sneaks ever! The flowers may have been a pain, but they are so perfect. This is going to be the most special SBS.
