Carol - TAST, Drizzle Stitch

Hopefully, my yo-yos depict the glamour of the shows along the Strip and they just happen to have Drizzle Stitch centres (perle 8 - 20 wraps)

Debra, do you recognise those purple and green fabrics?

Those pretty purple and green fabrics were originally given to me by our very own Angela! I just sent you some of the scraps.

Good call on the drizzle with yoyos. That is an idea I can relate to well. Pinching it for sure.

Very cool way to fill in the center of the yoyos! I was thinking you could add some beads onto the ends of the drizzles for extra LV-type glitz?

Perfect stitch for the center of the yo-yos! Very Vegas, especially the gold.

If I put beads on the ends of my drizzles will you all promise not to say they look like eyes!

I was going to use all gold fabric, but thought it just looked too much, even for Vegas.

Angela thanks so much for the purple and green fabrics, what a long way they have travelled.

So glad they were of use! I love the yoyos. I have often thought of making a yoyo quilt but don't think I have the patience for it.

Once you get started making yoyos, it's about like eating candy. They are the perfect pick-me-up project. Barbara got me making them a few years ago.

Carol Neale-Broughton said...

You could be right I've made a few smaller ones - candy without the calories

Debra Spincic said...

If only that were satisfying. I think I need the calories to make it work for me! (LOL!)

A great sparkly way to jazz up your yo-yo's (I know them as the English terminology - Suffolk Puffs - though, lol)

Carol Neale-Broughton said...

Suffolk Puffs they are, but these were sewn using a couple of plastic discs and described as yo-yos.

Cy said...

Aha! Does that mean that the plastic discs are still in situ, or were they only used as a template?

Too much for Vegas??!! Is that possible??
heheheh

What a great idea! Love the yo-yo drizzles! Cool.

Used as templates, I think they are made by Clover.

Great addition to your yo-yos, and I love the sparkly fabrics.

Love the embellishing on the fancy fabric yo-yos. Great use of the stitch and the fabrics.

Heh. I can't promise.... but I'll more likely think of sea anemones.

Oh, I like the name Suffolk Puffs so much better! I wonder why they get called yo'yos? they don't look like the toy to me...

I love the drizzle stitch yo-yos. The yo yos make great use of the shiny satin and metallic fabrics, and the drizzles add just the right frivolity and fun!
