Susan: LATE July Reveal

Days late and many dollars short, that's me. But here is as much as July is getting for now. There will be fill-ins around the edges when I sew the blocks together.

Here are the up-and-down buttonhole (almost invisible because I chose the wrong blue to put on the green, but it's there!), the Algerian Eye, and the oyster stitch. The Algerian Eye looks like spiders to me, and I'll probably do something with that when I sew on here more.

Here's the whole block together. It reflects, in the unfinished sections, the lack of time I had during July! The bird section also needs some outlining, but I'm moving on to August or I'll be WAY behind.

Like you, I expect to revisit my blocks and add more when the basics are done. While I didn't want this project to go into 2013, I'm afraid Jan & Feb may be finish up months.

Lovely work and very delicate!

Your fabrics and buttons look so pretty and complement the fairy silky. Leaving your block to complete at a later date may work in your favour because I feel sure we will all experience the moment "that's just perfect for...", can't say when that moment will arrive as I'm now out of favour in the Stitch Department!

I agree, it's good to leave some space for integrating the blocks down the road. I love your cloud of heart buttons, very sweet!

Love that little blue fairy, Susan. Like Barbara, I love all those little hearts. That golden circle is very interesting too.

Thanks, all! I have no idea what this might ever be used for other than a wall hanging, but I do want to have room to integrate stitching from one block to the next. Like Debra, I'm sure at least the first two months of 2013 will be finishing this. I have one more block, and then 4 borders to do. That's the fall segment. Then put it together and figure out what else is to be done. One thing that really hasn't changed in the months gone by is my general plan for this, so that's a first! =)

I'm behind on comments, but I WILL get to it, hopefully tomorrow. Today? Whatever the time is. =)

Love your oyster stitch mandala Susan, and the beaded layered doily. I also like the two seam treatments on the two blue fabrics at the top.
Another beautiful block.

Not sure about that Cy, but if you'd all like to send me your preferences I'll see what I can do!

The finishing work for my cqjp project is going to happen in 2013 too-- almost certain. At least I have been pretty aware of that from the onset. :P

The scattering of hearts is so fun! and the French knots set off the oyster stitch wreath really well! Very pretty.
