Carolynn- up and down buttonhole

Very little to show for the week, but I did try the stitch! I like it and will try to do more with it as time goes on.

(The weather has been beautiful here, so I worked in my garden; it's showing much more creativity and effort than the stitching!)

I think we all enjoyed UDBS as it works in so many ways and your samples illustrate this - circles, squares and rows. You are fortunate to be able to garden, we are experiencing a dreadful summer, the worst in 30 years and we had the whole of Juky's rainfall in just a few days at the beginning of the month, so enjoy your lovely weather even if it means gardening instead of sewing.

I think I meant July!

I so agree; it's really hard to stay inside now that the sun is mostly out! We heard about the hail/lightning last Monday when we took a ferry to Bainbridge and ended up in GH for dinner. We got the same storm last Friday. It was crazy! Nice use of this stitch; it was a kind of fun one, I thought. Yours look great!

According to our DD#1, the midsection of the US is having an awful drought. And here it's unusually chilly...58 again this morning. Weird weather for sure!

Curious to hear the reaction to your Family wallhanging!

Nice examples. What's your next project?

This stitch looks great on your cq seam, and a lovely playful variety on your aida. I found it a fun stitch too, and will put it on my go-to list and try to find other ways to use it.
Enjoy your good weather while you can, we are having an extremely wet time here at the moment but getting off lightly compared to the rest of the country, so I'm not complaining.

Nice stitching! I like this stitch and I like the variegated thread you used.
It's been unseasonably hot in Ontario for most of this month, and very little rainfall happening in our area. I've been watering my roses, pots, and shrubs, but the grass is dying and crunchy.Tomorrow is another 32C day with high humidity. We need rain.
