Carolynn--Palestrina, bullion, half-chevron stitches

We are at Hood Canal at our vacation condo with all our kids and grand kids--loads of fun! Crabbing, swimming, Monopoly games--lots going on.  However, I managed to start a new block using some of my catch-up stitches, plus Palestrina.

The green stems of the flowers are Palestrina; the flowers are bullion.  I had a little trouble for awhile but finally got the hang of it!

Pretty good for someone who's cooked 18 crab so far!

Yay! Trees everywhere! I love, love, love the colors of this block and the partial circle above the tree that almost looks like the sun or the moon peaking out.

We will soon have a forest ! Lovely lovely block and tree. Obviously cooking crabs gets the artistic juices flowing. Great Palestrina and pretty Bullions combination.

Trees have become an important theme this year! Who would have thought?

Lovely tree with its bare branches. With the block's colors I am reminded of fall and fallen leaves. This will be fun to see develop.

Nice! That's a great tree, and the flowers are pretty also. I am impressed that you can stitch with kids running around! Where on the Hood Canal are you? Hope it's sunnier than it is here in Bellevue!

Love the textures, love the colours, love the tree, love the long & short Palestrina stitching.
I think this is going to be a stunning block. Looking forward to seeing it progress some more.
Have fun......

With the fab colours of the fabric, and the naked tree, my first thought was of golden moonlight. I like everything about this and I'm looking forward to more.
Enjoy the littles and each other on your holiday. Sounds like lots of fun.

Good even without the crab and vacation! This may be my favorite block so far, love the tree, and the use of the palestrina with the bullions is so appealing. It does look like a golden moon rising behind that tree, on the Asian fabric.
