Deborah: TAST Weeks 16 & 17 - Catching Up

Deep breaths, deep breaths...

Okay, here are Weeks 17 (french knot) and 18 (Wheat Ear Stitch).
Although I have French knots everywhere, these are the ones I did the week of the TAST stitch. Not that it matters, I guess. Just random french knots nestled in the fly stitch. It adds some interesting texture.

Wheatear stitch.  A little difficult for me to get the hang of at first (note the first stitch on the left) but it didn't take too long to grasp. Really an interesting stitch with lots of possibilities.

There's a little more over at my blog. I've posted a picture of the block but there's still more to be done. I can't decide which photos to include...

Looking good! Love those blue flowers next to your wheatear.

Thanks, and that should be weeks 16 and 17 I think.

Thank you. I have difficulty with making my stitches consistent but I think I just need to practice. Or, cover them up with beads. ;-)

Looks fine to me! I wish my french knots looked like yours do!

I like the way your blue flower flows from one fabric to another across the seam.

Love those knots in the fly stitches! Very cute scattered around. The wheatear looks good, too. I'll go check out the blog.

Thank you. I love French knots.

That was in the Carol Samples book. Before I had to turn in back in I photocopied a few pages I really liked.

Add some interesting texture, I think. One of my favorites.

Thanks, Cy.

Thanks for the comments. I like to let the blocks sit for awhile then revisit them & see how they are working together, then add more details. I'm still looking for photos to include.

The groupings of red french knots inside green fly stitches makes me think of little bunches of cherries! Yum! fresh cherries!! Your wheatear stitch looks really nice, and so do your little blue "thistle" flowers next to them. :)
