Introduction--Carolynn S.

I'm a retired English teacher (30+ years), married, 4 children (one deceased), living in Des Moines, WA, a suburb of Seattle. I've sewn since I was a little girl: doll clothes, my own clothes, kids' clothes, the works. I began quilting after I retired, in 2004, so I'm relatively inexperienced at that. Nancy D and I are in a quilting-sewing group together, The Twisted Nuts (don't ask!), and we have been crazy quilting together for the last couple of years. We have been in Stitch Twelve with Debra, and she suggested joining this group as that one is closing. I'm looking forward to the discipline of this group to help me focus on learning new stitches and using them in creative ways.

Welcome aboard Carolynn. Lovely to have you here. Nice for us to have another stitcher keen to join in the fun of sharing projects.
Feel free to 'chip-in' wherever you like.... we don't bite (well, most of us don't).

This group has a great track record for staying focused and stitching. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the long yardstick I keep threatening to use on knuckles. (just joking, of course!)

You will learn lots under the creative needle here. I guarantee it or your money back. (Good thing this group is free!)

Welcome! I've been looking at the pictures on the other list and seen some wonderful learning going on. I'm a retired teacher, too - elementary - and a national writing consultant, also retired. I really look forward to seeing your stitching projects!

I didn't know you were a retired elementary teacher; but it definitely makes sense-- now that I know!

LOL! I'm not sure exactly how to take that, but I'll put a really positive spin on it. =)

Welcome, Carolyn! Nice picture!! Quilting is just like garment creation, except it doesn't have to fit! ;)
I haven't been peeking at the other group, so I will be seeing your work for the first time here, and I look forward to it!

Welcome, Carolynn! I live in WA also, in Bellevue, and am also a retired educator. (worked in adult literacy) Looking forward to seeing your work. I'm only doing TAST and am not doing CQ, at least at the moment. In my project I'm trying to incorporate the TAST stitches on some preprinted Sunbonnet Sue blocks that were in my stash. Glad you've joined us!
