My parents bought me her embroidery book the year it was published; I was in college. I still have it, well-loved, dust jacket tattered, corner nibbled on by a puppy from years ago. It has been leant often between my mom, my sister, and me, all through the years, though I was insistent in retrieving it from my mom's house when we cleaned it out after Mom died. What an influential woman. I'm going to go get out my book right now and sit down with it and a cup of tea, and relive some memories...

You're right, very inspiring, especially for crewel work.

Gosh, it doesn't seem possible - she's been around for so much of my needlework life.

About 4 weeks ago, I was in the local second-hand shop and saw Erica Wilson's Embroidery Book sitting on the shelf. I snatched it up for my library! What an amazing talent!
